Custom made according to the cruise website.

Wouldn't be too hard to do, get some high-density polystyrene foam, carve it to the shape you want, fill and sand it smooth, few coats of wax/polish to seal the surface, lay fibreglass over it to make a mold, once mold is cured, make your new fibreglass flare/over fender - repeat for other 3 corners.

The average bodyshop won't be keen, you'll either need a place that specialises in custom stuff - which will be expensive - or possibly somewhere that makes stuff out of fibreglass on a day to day basis.

Best bet is to just have a go at making them yourself, it's not difficult (there's plenty of online fibreglassing tutorials too) and you'll get exactly what you want.

The easiest way to get all the flares the same would be to make one plug (the carved foam), one mold, and then make 4 identical pieces and shape the rear (where they fit to the cars panels) afterwards.

....I can't seem to upload any photos tonight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

There's a few other ways to do/try it, a guy in Oz (he had a 'Galant hatch' or Eterna by any other name) has made a mold of his side panels and then extruded them out so it's wider - it looks pretty rough though. I think it was on car domain :/
Can't say I've ever seen anyone try to use 'universal' flares though. It could be... interesting

Sweet photos are working again....

Busted out some of these from Curtis...

...So I could fit some of these. Originally from an Evo 4. Same shape as Evo 2 and 3 but red insert rather than light grey.

I'm considering grabbing a pair of rear seats to re-trim mine with - I have 4 individual folding components (ie each seat bottom and seat back folds independently! And clock in at around 60kg!) so I will need some more material than just one set.

The came from a Evo 2 with a shattered windscreen, so I'm still finding little shards even after busting out the vacuum a few times.

Things are a touch different to the Evo 9 seats the yanks are messing with. The Evo 9s only have socket head screws holding the tabs on but I'm going to have to drill out these studs on both sides - 3 per seat.

Coin clamp photo for Curtis - can't change my title for this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Could have sworn the Evo 4 was made after the fall of the Berlin Wall...

I killed another alternator (11 months and fried the voltage regulator again!) so I stopped working on this bit :/

Post pic's of crazy multi piece rear seat setup pls.

I've got a (borrowed) front brake setup from an FD3S rx7 (a 650hp one, lol) sitting here next to me, will look into making a bracket to mount them once I've re-assembled the rear end of the car - still waiting on the rear hubs, hopefully get them back tomorrow!

Also failed at pressing the rubber bushes back into the rear struts - may have to look into a urethane replacement (or one that can be made to fit anyway) which I can't really afford - f***.

Photos of the seats in the car or on the garage floor like they are now? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Apparently, just apparently because I may be getting cars mixed up in my head, the Mazda brake mounts share the same spacing as Evo Brembos

158mm centre to centre for the mazda caliper mounts not sure what brembo's are - they look very similar to the sumitomo calipers used on gto's and various nissans, perhaps that is what you're thinking of?

Noticed today that the mazda calipers are for a trailing setup, not leading like our cars have, so the piston sizes are staggered the wrong way - is this likely to result in my horrible and bloody death in a horrific accident?

I received some bits from MITSU!

Facelift Fog light covers & some suspension bushes etc

I also took the AMG out for a drive!
It's off the JACKSTANDS!!! WOOHOO!! It was out of action for one month! So it was a JSB for a short period...
I purchased some universal lips from the US of A and it turned out alright.
What do you guys think?

Love that car dude!

Also, I finally got my rear hubs back, new rear wheels clear the trailing arm by about a fingers width, and just tuck under the rear arches.

There's only 2 spots where the tire is actually hitting the bodywork,
Will require a wee bit of hammering here.

And a slight bit of trimming with a grinder here.

But I will roll the guards abit anyway as I intend to make some adjustable upper arms so I can set the camber properly (at the moment it is simply "lots" even with stock adjusters maxed out).

It'd make life alot easier! Next set of tires will be 225/40 R888's (they don't make a 35 profile), but the current tires that came with the wheels are nearly brand new and even with the hookup I have new tires are way out of my current budget.

I'd also like to reduce the camber in the rear to a sensible level once I've got some adjustable upper arms, so even with smaller tires it'd require abit of rolling/trimming.

Just waiting for the rain to stop so I can do some work on the car!

Here's a couple of full car shots - just mocked up with a jack under the arm at the rear - waiting for new bushes for the lower shock mount, found some nolathane ones from something else that should fit - front is at full droop! but it will be adjusted to about this height until I get around to making some ball-joint and tie rod spacers.

Rear geometry isn't too bad - lower arm is pretty much horizontal at this height - I've got plans to make it better though...
