also check out 4gtuner.com

They are both AUSSIE GVR4 clubs. (4gtuner has all 4G engined cars though).

I'd say there are about 5-10 or so decent built VR4's here in AUS.

As for the ALBINS stuff. I haven't really heard of many guys using them. They also make drive shafts etc.

Fired her up to idle for a few minutes.
It still has a broken RS BOX.

New dog box to go in after the AMG is done on the jackstands.

let me know f u want a set if the COP dont work out

How much are a set of those?

Is that a boost leak tester on the throttleboby?

Quoting bazeng:
Here is a sneak peak of the new engine.
The previous one was poorly built.

My goal is to get it done by the end of the year...

Engine in engine bay

I've been working on the thing after work daily.
I'm just trying to sort out the drivetrain atm.
Sending some stuff away to get modified / heat treated etc.

Hopefully nothing will break.

The car will be driving this weekend!!

It's been a while!

For those who don't know, it now has a PAR dogbox (1st to 4th). Hopefully I can learn how to drive it quickly!!
Other changes include new wheels and an Active Exhaust Valve

It might be in the thread somewhere but, I don't feel like going through all the pages to find it, but who made your oil pan? It looks a lot beefier than the moroso.

It is a moroso sorry to say.

Maybe the 4inch dump pipe makes it look good?!?!?
lol

Although it has been modified quite a bit to suit the rod / crank / girdle

Are those OZ wheels on the VR4?

they look just like the 16 OZ anniversary wheels we had on 2G eclipses here in 99, but I could never source the model in 17 over here. They look so damn good!

So the new dog box is now in.

I transferred the front LSD from the broken box into the dog box.
It was quite straight forward.

New box stuff! (centre diff comparison)

I've figured out how to install a box by myself which is quite tricky but very doable with a jack and a strong grip.

I also changed over the clutch to suit the new box (larger input shaft).

The exhaust was modified with more flanges (vband) and a ceramic coating treatment to stop it from rusting away.

I converted the drivetrain to a 3.5 ratio from a 3.9 rs ratio. So the rear diff came out and the evo3 lsd was installed into the 3.5 housing.

I have new wheels to go on and oils to fill before she drives again.
So far so good!!

I also used the tail shaft (driveshaft is what you guys call it) from the 10 sec vr4 I purchased.

So I have taken from the 10 sec vr4
- rear diff housing + crown wheel & pinion.
- gearbox
- tailshaft

So pretty much the entire drivetrain.

The transfer case will be a spare unit if mine breaks!

So I have upgraded a few things.

Firstly coils have been relocated away from the engine (heat issue) and the coils have been rewired with new shielded tefzel wire.
Secondly, wide open throttle shifting is now activated on the foot rest so no clutch engagement is required at all
Thirdly, thanks CURTIS for the idea, a custom halo made around the shifter to stop 1st,2nd,3rd,4th shifts from overthrowing in the box

Plus I installed a new steering wheel. It feels much better and now i can see the tacho / speedo !!

Curtis likes /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worthy.gif

Looks clean and is a bolt in deal.

So explain this switch. I'm thinking that the switch is just a clutch switch to lie to the ecu to make it think you have the clutch in. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif That or its the beer talking. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

Something else whats this map pocket plastic piece on the door and who stole your speaker grill. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looking good Barry!
Is that OMP wheel the Ebay special from Perth mate? I might have to grab one for mine.

Curtis, We didn't get door mounted speakers over here. Stingy Mitsubishi Australia!

Yes, the switch simply tells the ecu to retard ignition which takes load off the box to allow for a quick change in gear without touching the clutch pedal (I found it hard to control my left foot in the heat of racing). This should reduce any type of clutch disc wear when shifting. As for the door thing, that's a stock aus spec for you.

The halo surely does improve shifter feel. No more spongy shifts.

Tim, yep that is the ebay special!

Not sure how long it will last.. Good for now. I'm still looking for a genuine one.

Question guys........ If I were looking at 9s, would I need to upgrade my transfer and axles/shafts?
