Including the price I paid for my current Galant, I probably have a bit over 10k in the project. Definitely under 20k, though. sh*t is cheap when you do it yourself. And, if you wait for deals and such on parts, it's not hard to put together a nice car and not break the bank.

I've parted out 3 GVR4s for no profit except for free parts. A couple of those things listed did find their way into my tool bag at the junkyard though. I guess that's stealing haha

I would consider my car a budget build, but I haven't put any hackjob parts on it. Just going slow.

1226/2000: $4000 (included some freebies, exhaust, wheels, extra unassembled engine)
evo 8 wheels, new tires: $900
Parts and work on spare motor: $1100
Maintenance items(wheel bearings, 5 lug swap, cooling system overhaul, timing overhaul, plugs, wires, misc extras): $1200
Odyssey battery: $110
Intercooler setup: $500
16g turbo, evo iii manifold, associated new parts and hardware: $400
Misc crap: $200

So I'm into my car around $8000 total.

I have paper work easily over 10k between paint, the engine build, built transmission. Also that's not including all the miscellaneous go fast parts.

I think honestly the words budget and build can't be used jointly lol

I will need to tally it up but I don't think it's more than $8,000. I know I will have another $2000-$3000 in it before spring. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I'm at or below $5k on the BMW engine swap. Mine won't be a HP monster build and I'm making most of everything I can but I'm still trying to do it as cheaply as possible. Getting the chassis for $700 helped a bunch too though.

I probably had $11-12K *total* into three vr4s and sold them for $10-11Kish

Am a big believer that the best money you can spend modding a car is the previous owner's.

$4300 for the car
$600 for suspension and new tires
$150 for tint

The GGSX is where the big price tag will be.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/uhh.gif

I'm around 7,200 last time I added it up with the price (500) of the car. This may go up if I plan on restoring it's appearance which probably will not happen.

I don't even want to think about it. If I did know how much time & money I put into the Turd I'd probably cry. Also I'd actually may have a running car for more than 3 months at a time if I didn't get my VR4...

Ah life would have been so nice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif
