Rusted Lowering Springs - Are these safe to use?

Hi Guys,
I've recently bought a set of used whiteline springs from a forum member here, but after receiving the springs I've found out that these springs were rusted. Per a forum member, it should be safe since it's only a surface rust.
Can anyone chime in on this? My 628 is a DD car.

Thank you in advance!
John

I had some worse than that. I had them blasted and re-powdercoated. You could just paint them too.

Make sure you inspect them for cracks or deep pitting before you paint/powdercoat.

Thanks for the replies guys! It's a relief to hear that these springs are ok to use. I've checked for cracks and etc, but they seem to be ok. I'll have my mechanic inspect the springs one more time prior to the installation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Clean them up really good and paint them. They'll look like new.

Lots of times the local cemetaries have people that do the blasting on headstones and they charge little to nothing to blst stuff. Then just rattle can green...It will make the car faster. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
