Should I attempt to install the FMIC myself?

Hey so I have an ETS FMIC kit that I want to install and I am thinking about doing it myself. I have barely any hands-on with cars and wouldn't even know where to begin. I would have to probably buy all of the tools that I need too. Was wondering if you guys could steer me in the right direction.

sides of the bumper, one bolt each side, behind each turn signal one bolt each side. under the bumper for the cover, there may be push pins, fog lights have two bolts each and a plug for the harness.Pull the bumper, and mount your FMIC.

You will need to cut the crash beam a bit, so beware of that.

what kind of tool is used to cut it? I would have to buy or rent it.

I used a grinder with a cutting wheel. You should be able to pick one up for around $20. Just make sure to pick up extra wheels and a pair of safety glasses.

 

I got my grinder and extra set of wheels at harbor freight for 11 dollars.

bump, my crash beam is already missing the center, it was cut by previous owner and I can ship for pretty cheap. if you want it, lmk. it will save the hassle of cutting your oem one if you decide to sell your car.

I wish you were closer......I have the same kit on my car with the front support already cut. I switched out bumpers so the cut out is still with the old bumper.

Definitely not cars for people who aren't mechanically inclined. Galants are a labor of love

OP, I think you will be fine. Installing a FMIC kit isn't exactly brain surgery, it is just kind of tedious.
