Just finish reading an article and got me confused. Its about octane rating, detonation, controlled the fuel burns, power and mileage etc. What is the required factory petrol octane rating to a jdm and usdm gvr4? And do we need to adjust the rigth timing to compensate what octane rating we use so that the engine will stay cool? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/uhh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bawling.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

^ Considering the US uses AKI (Anti-Knock Index) measurement of Octane, 91-93+ doesn't mean the same thing in the Philippines and in most other countries that use RON (Research Octane Number)for octane rating, OP needs to use at Least 95 RON (Equivalent to 91 AKI)

America use (r+m)/2. In the philipines 95 octane but its the equivalent in america using the equation (r+m)/2 is 89 octane.
