Little tabs on the outside of the window?

Maybe a dumb question.....but....who knows

What are those little tabs on the outside of the front windows.....maybe for vent visors or rain guards but i dont think they came with them from the factory?

any ideas?

Just speculating, but I think at high speeds with certain windows down you can generate a lot of cabin pressure. This can cause windows to get pushed out as you roll them up. So I think the tab ensures that if the window is getting pushed out due to pressure, the tab pushes it back in so it will sit in the window seat at the top of the window opening.

I'm inclined to agree with No Holds Barnes on this one. I think those tabs are there to guide the glass back into alignment at speed.
