+1 on the quieter exhaust, I am going on 25 and already grown out of wanting a loud exhaust. Mild to quite is my goal!

im just tired of the cops pulling me over for the exhaust /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif. sometimes i wanna run no muffler at all just straight pipe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif
Why dont the cops cruise around the ghetto's and find the criminals instead of pulling people over for the exhaust being too loud. I understand if the car doesnt have any exhaust on it at all... pull over a harley for once jeez /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

^ cause theyre biased like everyone else....but i hear you. I got a 3" one piece thermal post downpipe...is it worth it or possible to take it to an exhaust shop to chop the muffler off and have them weld on another muffler, or should i just go with another system? i've always had the shops bend me a custom setup, or the car has already come w a catback...have never tried to modify an aftermarket setup already on the car.

I would add resonators to the Thermal. They make a nice exhaust.

If you really want to shut it up look into the dynomax super turbo mufflers. I stuffed the biggest one I could fit under there with the highest flow numbers. They've got a chart on the website that shows the numbers so you can get the right one.

I'm not sure I buy all the exhaust hype anyway. Maybe you give up a few horses but it was worth it to me daily driving the thing.

I like to leave the loud annoying exhaust for the honda boys. Nothing like a deep deep tone of a 4g63.

I've always wondered how many resonators you could have (or why an exhaust made of resonators doesn't exist).

I have a 2.5" exhaust with a fake cat, no resonators, and it's broken in the middle. I drive it 50+ miles a day, and I hate the noise. But I'm too cheap to fix it since this is my winter beater and I'm too much of a novice at welding.
Surprisingly (and I'm jinxing myself here) I never get bothered by the cops in the gvr4, and I drive like a real douche. Must be because the car appears completely stock besides the large muffler (I wish it was a dual-tip muffler to look more stock).
