I bought some transmission parts (old junk from local rally guy) and found this kind of modification.... Beefier 4th gear set. Never seen this kind of mod.

Intermediate saft:

Junk didnt contain gear so its useless axle. I know name who made this so im going to ask does he have spare gears for this, but i dont think so that he have... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

ps. 2013 trackday season upgrades to my vr4. 6 pot brakes, another cusco tarmac gear, some e3 turbos for compressor housing tests....

I know there was a guy on the EVO123 board that had it done. Somewhere in the UK maybe? Shep-Racing also did something similar. But neither have (or will from what I hear) made it to production.

surprise az
Almost looks like the 4th out of a fwd trans. I bet they cut it off the fwd shaft and welded it on. A fwd 4th gear will fit on the awd input shaft, and work with the awd hub/slider. 4th is larger in the fwd trans, because it drives the countershaft.

Hmm, interesting thought. I think the one in the UK was a custom built gear, but that's a decent sounding option!
