evo 8 cams, pistons, etc..

Can i use most of evo 8 internals on 1g engine? Worth it? or spend a bit extra on aftermarket? looking for 500hp max. car mainly will be used as AutoX, road course, weeknd warrior /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif thx

As far as I know you can use the pistons (with machine work), the cams (with machine work), the lifters and the valve springs

Why would you want to. When theres a huge aftermarket for the 1g motors that can get you well over your goals and they bolt right in.

you can use the pistons if you have the rods bored from a 21mm pin to a 22mm pin which would be around 200 bucks, cams arent worth the effort, but the rest of the valvetrain, lifters, rocker arms, springs and retainers all swap right in.

Thought the evo8 cams drop in if you chancge the sprockets, and cross drilled, not sure exactly the procedure.
I think the cas has to be flipped too, could be mistaken though

Thanks for the input guys. Just trying to figure out costs, on a budget.. i see many deals on parts, over at evolutionm.net Nonetheless i consider saving for aftermarket, seems like the best bet.
