Is there a way to manually force the release of the emergency brake? All four wheels are locked. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

you can cut the cables. it should only be locking the back wheels. all you'll need once you figure out the problem is a new cable

Why cut the cables? Remove the rear calipers and check the pistons one may be frozen.

See if you can rotate the actuator arms on the calipers to the rear of the car.

You *might* be able to get a stubby crescent wrench on them for leverage.

Otherwise, a gentle tap from a soft faced hammer will do what it takes to move the car.

If the arms free up and the car still doesn't move, the brake pads may be rusted to the rotors. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Thanks for the feedback guys......and yes it is only the rears which is why I thought of the emergency brake. Will be looking deeper into the situation in the morning since I'm working evenings this week. I'll post up results when done. Thanks again!
