As soon as I can get a few nice days with some good temps and no rain, I plan on painting it white. I cant argue with you though, she isnt much of a looker, but she's fun.

Congrats on all the progress, Nick! Why so stiff on the spring rates? What anti-roll bars will you be running? We'll see how I like 8kg/mm F and 5kg/mm R with the Hot Bits and WL bars. My guess is at some point I may want to up the rear rate, but we'll see.

Are you guys planning on Calabogie with COM at the end of May? It's a haul for you guys, but from what I hear about the track, completely worth it. With that and Mosport and Tremblant, you'll want to make sure the car is fit to cross the border a few times this year. Are you going to trailer it or drive it to the events?

BTW, here's a pic you've probably already seen but others might get a chuckle out of:

Watkins Glen on Monday.

The spring rates are up in the air right now. I'm currently running 10kg on both front and rear on my daily driven Honda, and Ive gotten used to the stiffness. I also liked how it felt on the track, very tidy and composed. The bars are custom bars that came with the car, I haven't measured them yet, but they're big. I need to get under the car with some calipers to see what size they are.

I'm not sure about the Canadian tracks, I need to renew my passport. I plan on towing the car to most of the tracks, the only one Id consider driving it to would be NHIS. (The car isn't registered right now anyway). What do they look for at the boarder when trailering a car over? Do they just check for a title or reg?

It seems that Watkins Glen may not happen either. Who wants to go rent out Summit point with me?

The wheels are funny?

KC, you're right about the motor. The general prep is costing enough right now that the other stuff can come later. Next year we can make improvements to the aestetics.

That Accord ran faster than 50% of STI and EVOs at Lime Rock last year at our club's track day. H22 and very light.

Those aren't real gravel wheels. .. just called sparco gravel. Real gravel wheels are 15" and narrower than 7" usually.

Could just be that Nick's a good driver. A good driver in a Miata at the track can smoke a beginner in a Vette. Depends on the track too. On a tight momentum track there is less of a speed disparity among cars, versus a track with a bunch of long straights where the high HP cars can make up some serious ground.

We bought one. It's been added to the stable

I think Nick's first outing in the Galant will be at Pocono North. We're considering mega squirt and finishing the suspension before then. Fo' reeeaal.

Im not sure whats funny about that pic, that accord raises a lot of eyebrows both on the street and the track. Ive spent a lot of time sorting everything out on that car, it right now its a really well balanced car for both venues. The mod list is lengthy and boring so I wont get into what Ive done, but its a very fun car.

Cy, So with the logic you just stated, where does that leave me on Lime Rock? Is my car the Corvette? or the Miata? (given stock c5 z06 vettes were doing laps in under a minute there)

Anyway, enough about the daily driver. . . I ordered up a custom Ground Control kit for the Galant. Mark down at GC was extremely helpful when figuring out what size sleeves were needED and what length spring. It was an interesting conversion trying to explain why I was using EVO struts on the Galant. The kit should ship out today, so as soon as it comes in We'll slap the rest of the suspension together and Ill get it aligned again.

I also ordered a Palm Pilot and DSMlogger the other day. I was talking to Matt at the shop the other day, and apparently he had a break through with DSM chips. He can pretty much change anything, but he cant data log timing. So I figured Id buy the data logger to make things easier. And ther is always the det-can technique. If I can get away with not using a Mega Squirt for this season, Id be happy.

So ground control had sleeves that would fit over the evo front struts? When I was looking around for sleeves, I couldn't find any that were that large ID.

Dunno, as I've never been on the track with you In the right hands, our cars are VERY capable at the track given the way you and I have got them set up. I haven't even begun to explore the true potential of my car yet. I'm still learning at a pretty good clip, and would consider myself a solid intermediate at this point.

I can't ever get a clean lap (on video) to figure out what times I'm running. Traffic sucks at LRP.

I sure wish I had money to throw at my car like to seem to Nick. I'd really like to step up to some r-compounds by mid-summer, but that's not in the budget at this point.
