When doing my alternator, I disconnected a small hose, maybe 4mm, from the power steering pump. Can anyone tell me just what that is?

4mm? You sure you aren't talking about the little electrical wire for the p/s sender switch?

If it is a wire connected to your PS pump it is to bump the idle a little bit when you turn the wheel.

Well. What held on this hose. A large nut? Or two bolts? Or anything at all?
