tranny issuses

so i snapped my bellhouseing on my tranny and i was wondering if i can switch out my bellhousing one that fits a 2.4 7 bolt crank, i have the trans that was on a2.0 4g63 but now i have a 4g64 block, and i was wondering where should i go from here. here are some pics of what happened t my trans.

if anyone could plz let me no if i can change to a bellhousing that will fit a 7 blt 2.4 4g64.

How do you have your front engine mount mounted??? When you switched to a 7 bolt block you lost your front engine mount mounting holes. If you go with a 2g style bell housing the front engine mount mounts to the front of the trans, so if you can fab up a new bracket you will be good to go.

will a 2g bellhosing bolt up to my tranny, bc i haven tryed that yet, and yeah i am in the process of fabing a new front mount.

While I'm not sure if a 2g bellhousing will work, I am sure that you will need to reshim the transmission if you change it or any other piece of the case.

Not making any assumptions here about your ability, but if you're not aware bellhousing swaps on a DSM trans are not like on a T5. It's an integral part that requires a complete teardown.

Not just a tear down but a re-shiming of all the bearings involved....

Answer me this??? Were you running a front engine mount when this happened? Also 2g bell housings aren't the easiest thing in the world to find.

Have you considered talking to a welder about repairing this? The bolt hole tab looks fixable. Not real sure about the input shaft sleeve.

i have a guy who can wed this for me he said< i just hae t tear it apart bc there is a bearing behind this seeve< am i correct? and today i just fabed up a front engine mount so this kind of stuff wont happen again. and when this happened i only had 2 side poly mounts and the rear poly mount there was no front mount.

Yes, there is a bearing, but more importantly there is a seal that is only serviceable from the inside. So, I guess he's right.

yea i just bought a new bellhousing for my trans and im gunna have my friend tear it apart and put the new one on.

Not trying to be mean or anything but they put four mounts on there from the factory for a reason. It seems like I was the only one who gave you any advice on the trans or the mounts and you don't even answer me back when I make a comment or answer your questions. Thanks I appreciate it.

BOOSTING HARD sry bro i have not been on my computer for awhile and if i insulted you im sry /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif,and the dude who sold me this galant had oly 3 mounts on it befor, and i only had this car for like 3 months now, i just fabed up a new motor mount so i am hoping everything work out.
