Currently have Evo IX struts (non-MR) and springs (1 coil removed)

Car rides great but is a little harsh over bumps.

Do swifts provide a little softer ride?

Car is DD only so I'm not sure if I need Swift-R's or not, any suggestions?

They are a little better, but it's the KYB's not the springs that make it rough. You'll want some bilsteins if you want comfort. I blew both front evo struts with cut springs. Swift springs will lower it right and keep the KYBs from blowing out.
