Starter Location 91 galant vr4????!?!

Can someone let me know in simple english where I can find it under the hood? top or bottom of moter?

Towards the back, underneath the intake manifold.

 

Stand the passenger side of the galant, at the fender.

Stick your hand down on the bell housing of the transmission. On the back side of the block (between the firewall and block) you will feel the starter.

Yep below the intake manifold - easier to get at it from above I would say. Disconnect the battery, undo the two 14mm bolts holding the starter motor on, slide the start back towards the drivers side maybe a couple inches, then lift it up and over back to the passenger side above the gearbox. While there you can undo the battery positive cable and starter trigger cable. You may need to remove the air box and intake pipe to the throttlebody etc for more clearance.

Stand at the passenger side fender wheel well and face the motor. Reach under the intake manifold and place your hand at about 11 o-clock on the tranny bell housing. You will see a semi-round hump and 2 bolt heads. That is the cone of the starter under that hump. The starter is behind it.

The red circle and arrow are pointing to the solenoid on top of the starter.
