Speed Sensor Issue - AEM Box

Hey everyone, I tried searching for this issue but found nothing very specific.
I am wondering if anyone running an AEM box has had issues with the speed sensor reading on the AEM. Mine is bouncing all over the place and never gives an accurate reading on the AEM log. I've been told by a friend that used to have a GVR4 that the speed signal is sent to the ECU via the cluster and the Galant cluster is totally different in the way it sends the signal compared to the 1G. He recommended I try using a 2G speed Sensoring and re-wiring.

Has anyone put a 2G speed sensor in a Galant Trans? How would the wiring work so the AEM would read the correct speed signal and of course keep the MPH on the cluster working.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I remember a local doing this after removing the dashboard in a race application. The 2g speed sensor will fit inside the trans without issue - you'll need the pigtail from a 2g wiring harness, and you simply wire it in like any other sensor. Switched 5v, ground, signal output wire to where the factory speed sensor goes to the ECU. Hope this helps!

hmmmm, I have AEM on my car, but never had an issue with is reading my VSS or similar, and mine is the OEM sensor.... I even have my antilag setup MPH-wise rather than clutch switch-wise. I'll have to dig into that a bit when I get off....

All you need to do is tap into the vss wire between the cluster and the ecu. If the signal is not steady, you probably have a bad speed sensor in the cluster.
2g sensor will bolt straight in and be more accurate but your stock speedometer and odometer will no longer work.
