Having trouble putting a pacesetter on because I think that the intercooler piping is going to touch it. Anyone every have a problem with this and know a way to fix it?
Man you might be able to clock the housing and dependent on what IC you have might be able to clock it so the pipes are down next to the radiator support but more than likely you'll get it on and 6 months from now it will be cracked out. I know because I've welded up more than I can count of the cheap ebay knock offs and even the schedule 10 thickness ones thats been over heated from big boost. If its not a schedule 40 weld bend thats built properly with high dollar bends its just not going to last. Heat pulls carbon from steel and nothing you can do about it. Like was said a ported 2nd gen or evo 3 is hard to beat. I have a ported one left from my ebay stuff if you want it just yell and we'll talk price.
Experiance yes. The outlet pipe will hit the header since it was designed for a dsm. The turbo outlet points starboard as opposed to a gvr4 pointing port. My solution was to cut a stock 1g outlet off at the flange and reweld it. BTW if you got one that is coated the coating will turn dull grey once the mani heats up.
+1 on a cast manifold. But it sounds like you already bought the pacesetter.
