Also my anti lock light is on and im not to sure if it was my brakes locking up but anytime i would shift it felt as if this is what the brakes were doing can anyone explain whats happening?

You may have an ABS problem, thus the light. Other possibility is a alternator/battery failure that is causing low power supply. the ABS unit needs a lot of juice (of course it should not be activating if it is dry).

I had this issue a few weeks ago, Replace the fuse for your abs(passenger side under the hood)....assuming that everything else is working correctly. Should fix it right up. I will post the link I found for this problem if I can find it.
