ds front floor access hole

I have my carpet out for a good cleaning and wash and i noticed the floor is pushed up alittle under the steering wheel area. As I was knocking it back down this plate that is over a access hole popped out. Does anyone know what this is there for? I'm curious what the point of it is

Could have been an access hole for when the car was being welded or for an attachment to carry the floor/body to another location in the build process.
But most likely for gems and pearls

I did find Mexican coins under the carpet. Maybe there's a payload hidden somewhere
