Door speakers

I was wondering what size the door speakers are? If they are not 6.5's can they be mounted in pretty easy? And also does the whole door panel need to come off to get access to the speaker. I was trying to mess with it here in my work parking lot...

Yea they are 6.5 in the front and rear. Problem is they are tricky to mount aftermarket speakers on the plastic cups. I removed the cups and bolted the speakers right to the door panel. You'll see once it's apart.

Stock is 5.25". If you don't mind doing a little door cutting, a 6.5" will fit just fine.

The grilles that cover the speakers are screwed from the inside, so yeah, you really need to pull the door panel. it's not hard, though. Unscrew, and lift UP.

Oh, so that's why my alpines didn't fit right. You can make 6.5 fit.

3" dash, 5.25" door, 6.75" rear.
