Compression service limit different on Galant and 1g Eclipse?

Was reading up on the vfaq and saw that they have listed different service limits for the 1g Eclipse turbo and the galant. Any idea why? the 1g Eclipse says the service limit is 121 psi while the galant says 114. Aren't they identical engines?

I've wondered about this too. They are the same engine but the TELs were never sold in Japan so maybe it has something to do with JDM emissions restrictions.

Really? I assumed that it wasn't since I've never seen a RHD 1G and all of the JDM 4g63s come out of VR-4s.

It's just cause the Galant is that much more sweet than a DSM. It can run better on less compression. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
