of course, I have seen plenty of thrown rockers with Hydraulic lifters as well. I am not sure what the actual argument against them is. I chalk it up to need. I am not sure they fall into the category of needed.

General consensus is if you don't NEED them, don't do it.

They're generally only needed for high RPM engines, IIRC.

Otherwise all your going to do is add one more thing to your list of maintenance items. (adjusting))

If you are throwing rocker arms with over the shelf cam grinds your valve springs are not strong enough and time to look at stiffer springs or shims. The solid lash adjuster would add a lot of work, as far as I know Brent Rau still uses a hydraulic lash adjuster but limits the oil pressure going to them.

I was told this as well by a few reputable engine builders and shops.
