i wasnt sure wether or not the axels in 1g dsm are the same length as the vr4s, i know the driveshaft is longer on the vr4 but are the axelds the same?

Yes the axles should be the same.

90 works also. If I recall 90s had different joints but the entire axle is interchangeable. Not even sure any 90 axles exist anymore.

yeah but they still interchange. You just couldn't swap just the joints.
