  5. twin disc clutch?

Powertrain Technology = PTT.I love the way mine shifts. I had issues with 2100s, 2600 and my clutchmasters setup adjusted all different ways only going to 8k. I also have a funny mentality with these cars. I refuse to buy a built transmission with a lot of the same downfalls that a stock...
  6. twin disc clutch?

Everyone here for the most part will say that you don't need one. But lets look at what you're doing with the car. It gets driven to and from the track pretty much with no real DD use right? So put a PTT in it and enjoy how nice it shifts. They aren't fun to daily but they do shift nicer than...

I'm just curious, what cooling issues have you had with the AFCO scirocco style radiator?
  13. FS: Turbos Inside

Correct. This turbo would bolt up to replace any stock turbo. Only difference is this turbo requires oil to be fed from the oil filter housing

  18. Clutch issue??? I am assuming...I am hoping...

Make sure all the bolts holding the transmission to the block are tight. Make sure the bolt that goes through the back of the block into the transmission is there... And it's tight.I would also check the clutch pedal assembly for play. Don't let Brett scare you, it sucks but it's not that bad...

  21. 881/1000 - My New GVR4

Those work wheels and the Z are a friend's ride. I could never afford what he's got into that thing! Thanks for the compliments Brett, the problem now is me, I just can't come up with the cash to do what I did to my 1g. Coilovers, upper adjustable control arms, jay racing toe eliminator, poly...
  22. 881/1000 - My New GVR4

Shane - thanks man! The rears rub over bumps but only if I hit them fast. Fronts can't go lock to lock on the rack. I was considering rolling the fenders and calling it a day. Evo 8 wheels will probably go back on, and these will most likely be sold. If I had all the suspension work done thats...
  23. 881/1000 - My New GVR4

It's been awhile since I updated. Things have been going alright. Been DDing the car since I put it all together, finally got a grille for it and she got new wheels. 18x9" Rotas.... Got them for a steal. I stuck em on last night. The suspension is rear AGX's, front GR-2's, 2g rear strut tops...
  24. Redoing Vac Lines and catch can setup. need info

Real simple. So, stock setup with taboo vac lines would have afpr and boost gauge teed together, and mbc and bov together. This requires a drill, decent bits, and a q npt tap. Drill and tap the j pipe or compressor cover, use that for mbc. Drill and tap intake manifold, use that port for boost...
  25. blox 1/8 npt banjo for fuel line

The banjo fitting is the largest restriction. Why not make a -6 line from filter to rail?
  26. how many of yall daily your gvr4

881 has been on DD duty since i bought it as a shell back in march. had a drivetrain installed the very next day.prior to that, i've been DD'ing my 1g DSM. same reliability factor, just not as comfortable to drive compared to the GVR4. realistically, i have been DD'ing either one of my 1g's or...
  27. FS: Jacks welded center diff and 90 oil cooler

For anyone looking, this is a 92.5 - 99 compatible center differential. Ironically enough, they're harder to find in good condition than the earlier ones.Free information bump!

Nice find, looks clean. Whereabouts in CT are you?
  29. WTB: steering rack bushings

Thanks Pot that's half the problem!I got a subframe from a local, he mentioned that one of the bushings is NLA. Maybe that's the passenger side? I'm going to browse JNZ when I get out of work
  30. WTB: steering rack bushings

I know you can't get one of them from the dealer anymore (correct me if I'm wrong) so I'm looking for both rack bushings in great shape, shipped to 06791. Thanks!
  31. COP Reliability

I'm bumping this back up. All you guys running cop, what are you using for plugs, and at what gap? I got a cop setup to try, I like how smoothly the car runs now. I heard awhile ago that cop works better with the tops of the plugs taken off? Not sure if that's true or not.
  32. WTB: greddy type s/rs bov

Looking for a greddy type s or rs bov, shipped to 06791. No knockoffs please!
  33. School me (AC SYSTEM)

Quoting ktmrider: Quoting prove_it: Yea, it helps, but really it comes down to charge, pressure levels, and mechanical issues. In the acura/honda world it's almost always a compressor clutch failure, relay failure, or low charge from a leak. Not trying to dead beat my point, Subaru models...
  34. looking for ideas on a bolt-on exhaust sound dampener???

what i've been considering, is welding in a couple of resonators to drop the noise level down. i think the one lap VR4 guys did this with some success, i don't remember the details though.
  35. WTB: connector for coolant temperature sensor

The connector is the same as a speaker plug with one vertical and one horizontal female spade. This should help the OP find this plug a lot sooner! If you don't get one by the end of the week, I may have one in my toolbox somewhere for ya
  36. External wastegate on O2 housing fitment, hmmm

I've got an old school punishment o2 with a 4 bolt tial 40mm on it. Basically the wastegate pretty much bolts to the o2 flange and it's fairly low profile. Only complaint was having to grind down the power steering bracket, didn't take too much. This is on a 7cm hotside
  37. New New Yorker taking on a gvr4

John is on this forum if i remember right.would be awesome if we could get a group buy on these... i think the welding is the one part of the evo suspension swap that's holding me back from actually doing it.
  38. You think you have rust?

Quoting donkeylips: I think that pictures of rust trouble areas should be mandatory in the for sale section. Just like adding a price and location. Look at every thread. Everyone is asking the same question. I don't think there are any exceptions to this. It would really streamline things. You...
  39. So I entered 1051 in a street car competition

that second to last pic with the 1051 plate is awesomelookin' good, and performing pretty well. who cares if you didn't sweep the competition? you had a good time, and the car still did pretty well overall. id say that's a good personal win for you and the car
  40. FS: GVR4 specific D2 coilovers, 3k miles SOLD

Damn! I had the money tooBut if they are heading to the east coast, I know they are going towards a more worthy gvr4 than mine
  41. Pic i need

If you want your MBC inside, I suggest a hallmann pro with the in-cockpit extension. If you get long lines and put it inside, you'll have greater boost spikes, and the hissing noise will get to you quick.
  42. WTB: a few things

Bump! Just need headlight plugs and window switches now!
  43. iceman69510

Iceman really hooked me up for a bunch of odds and ends for my gvr4. Pretty much gave me 4 speakers and some grille clips for shipping only. What a stand up guy! Thanks to ice, I have a radio again, and I can install my grille!
  44. heater issue

Almost sounds like the fans power is keeping the ecu running. That or it's shorting to ground perhaps?
  45. preparing for shootout and OH NO timing locked at 5* advance

Perhaps try another ecu? Possibly internally shorted unless you have bent pins in the connector. I mean, what else could it be?
  46. FS: Parts - updated 8/4/13 - help me build a CSM - BIG PRICE DROP!!!!
