  1. Gvr4 vs Evo8

I own both. For a daily it'd be Evo, easy choice. I daily neither, though, and instead drive an F350. Daily'd the Evo for 6 years though.
  2. Options for Brakes on Galant

If you come up with a solution you like, please share. Some others ff us have rally cars as well.
  3. 464/1000 Stage Rally build

    Rally wheels procured.
  4. 3000GT brakes installed.

yeah, I read through... twice. People use terms like "the rear end", and I'm left wondering if they are inferring more than the specific parts mentioned- like the trailing arms and control arms.I'm assuming the rear diff and axles are not being swapped, because I haven't read of that as a...
  5. 3000GT brakes installed.

sorry, I've got some newb questions on this.are you guys swapping everything from the GTO? Everything including: subframe, rear diff, axles, etc? or just the outward stuff like trailing arms, control arms, and hubs? I'm ready to source some parts when I can figure this out.TIA
  6. 3000GT brakes installed.

Jeez, thanks for bumping this. I'm pretty sure a full 3KGT rear end swap is in my near future. All i need to do is keep the 4-lug pattern, and make sure the 3KGT caliper fit underneath 15" wheels.I'll be running custom made coilovers for maximum travel, and the added 2" from this swap is...
  7. 464/1000 Stage Rally build

Ok, apparently that outlander stuff was fir some mirage. Nevermind
  8. 464/1000 Stage Rally build

For anyone wondering, I'm not dead.I ordered a venturi I hope to modify into a usable 34mm restrictor.I'm also a bit more motivated to get working on the suspension. Which brings me here. On a rally site, someone has made reference to Outlander rear subframe, and rest of suspension bits...
  9. Building a real WRC style Rally Car

I'll have to talk to blouch, I had talked to FP and they couldn't really help. as much testing as they do, restrictors was one place they haven't messed with I guess
  10. Building a real WRC style Rally Car

awesome stuff. My VR4 is in the middle (on pause) of a stage rally build as well. Really just has a cage at this point. Your thread is nice motivation though.Do you have a lead on a place to make restrictors, that knows what they're doing? I know any hillbilly with a lath can make me one...
  11. TRE or Shep

My personal experience in the Evo world has me currently dropping Shep. First one I got from them was truly great. 2 rebuilds since, and both rebuilds came back shitty from the get go. I have my trans back from TRE now, and I expect great things, as I've never heard a negative thing about his...
  12. I kinda want some mudflaps...

few years back, people were making mudflaps out of some Ikea chopping boards. The material was sturdy, but somehow a little bendable. And they came in a multi-pack. At $15 for a set compared to rallyarmor prices, it was a no brainer.
  13. 464/1000 Stage Rally build

yup. I was in NM on business and got to see the car in person. The stars aligned, and KTM was such an easy guy to work with, that I was able to pay and arrange shipping etc. from the East Coast. And until wrap it around a tree, the rest will be a long and proud historyGood or bad, I'll do...
  14. FS: ETS Intercooler Complete Kit

oh God. Yuba City, I lived there once...
  15. FS: Magnus race SMIM, EVO injectors

I've got money down on the AEM and double pumper
  16. no start issue...possibly due to cold weather

call dynotech yet? they're pretty reputable, and they know hat they messed with when they tuned it.
  17. Mil-Spec engine wiring harness

Mil-Spec? We just call it army-proof (it only fits one way)... j/k j/k
  18. wiper relay

how about if the wipers are just very very slow? is that just the motors? I was considering increasing power to them, lol.
  19. 464/1000 Stage Rally build

couldn't tell you the filler, but it's standard DOM not chromoly. The old advantage of chromoly seems to be disappearing with sanctioning bodies moving towards standard tube dimensions no matter the material.
  20. FS: Magnus race SMIM, EVO injectors

AEM come with any kind of harness for pnp? feel free to PM, I am NOT on here much right now
  21. 464/1000 Stage Rally build

So, some know I'm in Afghanistan right now. But, before I left I started to help with prepping the car. Since I've been gone I got a few more updates too. In another month, I'll be able to clean up the thread, but for now, I figure you guys may want a little car porn. Sorry, I can only link the...
  22. KOYO radiator options

is it all that much more expensive to get a core and have it welded locally? I honestly don't know, because my welding is done on the hook-up, but for a perfect fit to your exact car setup it sounds pretty beneficial.I will say, I've seen some Koyo's sell pretty darn cheap in general, so maybe...
  23. 22nd Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout August 15-17th 2014 Norwalk,Ohio

I'll be sure to stop by your group and say hi this year. I'll be in my Evo, but saw the VR4s last year and thought it was awesome seeing them there.
  24. shortest gearing available (OEM)

"100mph top speed at the rev limiter in 5th."^^ exactly. That's really what I'm looking for here, is to change the overall ratio.
  25. How to post Bigger pics

as a newbie I've been reading rules posts a lot. Though not required, it seems like this site highly recommends hosting here, so that the valuable pictures don't disappear some day when your photobucket changes or whatever.More to OPs specific question. I believe it's in the "show and shine"...
  26. WTB: stock wheels

I'll have to see where Coyotes is from. My main intent was finding some within a drivable distance. It was the rally tires that got me interested in the above wheels big time, lol.A friend told me he has a spare set of stock wheels as well. Hasn't, however, told me a price. And I can't borrow...
  27. shortest gearing available (OEM)

i won't be using first gear much, and even then it's on gravel, not a drag strip. Getting the ratios matched up would certainly be nice, but it's just the final ratio that I'm really concerned with.through a dinky restrictor, I'll take all the gearing advantage I can. Because extracting...
  28. where to put a build thread?

speaking of fat azz... guess what we noticed.the driverside seat bracket mounting point was broken. partially attached at the bottom, but it wasn't going to do squat in a crash. Noticed when we stripped the carpet and found 20 years of "stuff" under there too, lol. We'll just be welding it...
  29. ktmrider

Whoops. deleted my separate thread and adding here. Looks like it's not new news that he's a good guy.I bought 464/1000 from him. He is a 100% stand up guy. He followed through with every step of our negotiations, from the parts that would/wouldn't come with the car, to being able to get it...
  30. WTB: 4G61-T INTAKE MANIFOLD/s

SSGdave, mind sharing why you want these intake manifolds specifically, and not just a 2G DSM one? (I'm trying to learn)
  31. WTB: stock wheels

get a chance to take a look?
  32. shortest gearing available (OEM)

Now that's definitely food for thought. I'll have to feed info like that to guys I know who really know these transmissions. Possibly one of my weakest points on cars if I had to say.thanks!
  33. shortest gearing available (OEM)

appreciate the help. PM coming.I must have been mistaken, because in my limited research the Evo3 I thought gave the opposite of what I wanted. I'll do mroe digging
  34. shortest gearing available (OEM)

I just want to make sure I'm not being confusing. I hear people use different terminology with gears (high low tall short).I want a lower (numerically higher) gear; to increase my RPM for a given speed.
  35. WTB: stock wheels

tell you what, if you get a chance to look at them tomorrow and find out exactly what tires they are (brand/size something like that), maybe a pic to confirm they have usable tread for practice, than we have ourselves a deal. If they're rally tires, they likely aren't good for a race anymore...
  36. WTB: stock wheels

It's too bad the shootout isn't until late august, cuz I'd just pick them up in person. What do you mean by dirt tires? some mud+snow street tires, or rally tires?
  37. shortest gearing available (OEM)

So, my trans has to be rebuilt before I can race this year. If I can find a better option to start with for my use, it would make much more sense to do that, especially if it's already working. So, for rally, I'm looking for the lowest gearing I can, but want to keep things cheap so I'm ruling...
  38. where to put a build thread?

Well, when I left today, the only thing left inside was the steering column, heat stuff behind the dash bar, and rear door panels. Holy CRAP the sunroof is heavey when all said and done.Hopefully someone wants to buy those mint condition back seats. They are in stupid good condition.
  39. WTB: stock wheels

I'm at a decision point to do a 5 lug conversion or not. If I can get a full spare set of stock wheels, I'm probably going to stick with 4lug for a another year. I need to have extras as the car will be performing rally duty.Or, if anyone wants to tell me another mitsu with the same sized...
  40. WTB: GVR4 Cruise Control Unit and Bracket

Glad you found a buyer KTM, not that i thought it'd be hard.SSGdave, this is Tim from facebook
  41. Any 4g63 pros in Washington (Seattle) ?

Quoting 4thStroke: English just made a drive up to Seattle to pick up some cars. They do so from time to time, so keep tabs on them on Facebook in case they post in the near future and you want your car looked at.I'll give a +1 to English Racing. They have an immaculate reputation...
  42. where to put a build thread?

Don't want to come in here breaking rules. I've got newbie in my title, and in the member's showcase section the rules basically all say that's not the place for me to post a build thread. But, I'd still like to make a thread, in the correct location. Mainly because there has been a lot of...
  43. SOLD FS NM: 92 GVR4 464/1000 $3100 SOLD

yea man, we'll be prepping for stage rally. I plan to keep the forum updated on it as things progress.
  44. SOLD FS NM: 92 GVR4 464/1000 $3100 SOLD

    oh, it's going down
  45. FS: 1992 VR4 Indianapolis, In. 692/1000 **SOLD**

Car still for sale? I'm in a similar boat to some other people it sounds like. I am looking for a reasonably priced VR4 right now. Your coilovers are bamf, actually better than the coilovers on my Evo. But, they'd be useless to me. I want to buy a VR4 to build a stage rally car. If the car is up...
