17s, no question. 18s look a bit too big and the ride will suffer a bit more. Having some sidewall is good.

One of my favorite looking setups was Brianawd's 16" bronze Rotas with a nice meaty tire. It looks aggressive and with a good tire with a stiff sidewall, the car will perform better.

18s are too big. My preference is 16s, but I definitely wouldn't go bigger than 17s.

I ran 18 for 6 months in ny. I bent 3 of them. 1 of them twice. Another time 2 on one pot hole. I now have EVO 8 rims. Much better.

I have had both 18 and 17inch. I like the look of the 18inch more. Filled the car out better in my opinion. Also depends on the tire size and the drop you have to pull it off. I had 225-40-18. I now have 17inch on my car.

Mike I tend to agree, I have 18s on my other car. I think the trick with 18s is to run black or a dark colour as they look smaller. Your car looks fine in that photo. I think if you look at some cars with 18s in white or silver they can look a bit bigger. I still don't think it's a huge problem for looks, probably affects performance a lot more. Not sure I agree with the suggestion that they make the ride less comfortable though. It depends on your setup and how much clearance you have but if you can run a taller tyre I would think it would be more comfortable. Mountain bikers have been singing the virtues of 29ers over 26ers for years because bigger wheels make the ride quality better.

But for comparison, this is my daily on 17s

And the tyre size (just for reference) as well

Getting old sucks ... but it sure beats the alternative !!!

Not a fan of 18s on a GVR4. And this is why. I guess it depends on tire size, or color as stated previously.

No offence to who ever owns that gvr4, I just think that 18s look too big

I think 18's can be pulled off, but the performance threshold stops at 17's, IMO.

It's all personal preference, but I think 18s are too big. I like the look of a meatier tire on a 17" wheel on our cars.

16's or 17's only, IMHO. If 16's and you can fit them on the rims, 225/45(or50)/16, or 205/55/16(like the factory DSMs came with, for instance). For 17's, some 225/45/17 look mean. Not overly big to where it looks like your car is a DONK; raised up to fit the wheels(no offense BobDole, but that's what I think of of the above posted car)

I've seen a few GVR4's on factory 16-inch Talon and Eclipse rollers that looked absolutely cramazingly fantasmical. Then again, thats just my personal opinion....

I'll see if I cant post some decent pics of my car on my 16s later today(If I can remember, that is....lol)
