White reservoar on fuel pump assembly??

Does anyone know what this white reservoar is on my fuel pump assembly??

Looks like the fuel sock. It basically filters out any big stuff before it gets into the pump.

low fuel level sender that turns on the lite in the indtrument cluster when there is only a scosche of fuel left in the tank

 

I thought that the "black box" on the arm controlled the fuel light, guess I was wrong.

the handle with the black box is just the fuel level.
