Oil pump assembly leaking! proper procedure?

I just found out that the GVr4 has a leak coming out of the Front Cover/Oil pump assembly.
fix will require new gasket that seals around the assembly to the block.
I was told this procedure as follows:
1) all the timing/ pulley things need to be removed.
2) shaft removed and transfer case to get the oil pan off.
3) disconnet the assembly and pull it apart for new seal.

Does this sound right?
if it is, WTF!
just for a freaking one seal, gotta do all this.
Think about sellin the headache!

Remember Terry that he's having issues with the oil-pump assembly leaking. Thus the procedure should read...

1 - Open hood
2 - Remove dip-stick
3 - Push car out of garage
4 - Pull new car into garage
5 - Open hood
6 - Install dip-stick
7 - Shut hood
8 - Drive away

Done

Oh yes, sorry for the confusion.

hahaha.
Very Funny guys.
I mean come on. just for a freaking gasket leak. all that crap have to come off.
I just got done with a timing belt recently. (new one is going on as I type)
Good news. Found a leak is coming from a pulley on the back side. took it off and you can tell the back of the pulley was spraying the oil all over the cover. needs a new gasket and maybe some sealant on the bolt.

An engine has many gaskets...some are hard to reach. It's a part of life but it gives you a good chance to address other maintainance and you'll be richer for the experience.

I would rather do the front of the motor than a rear main seal.

If your going to replace the gasket on a motor with more than 30K miles, might as well just replace the whole front cover. It will come with a new oil pump. And don't forget to do the cam seals while you have the timing belt off.
