Ok, here's what happened. Around a month ago, I leave my house and drive to the end of my street to find one of my neighbors who I've never met just sitting in his truck at the stop sign. I stopped a few feet behind him and patiently waited. I figured he'd eventually see me and take off. Well, after a few minutes of patiently waiting, I see him glance in his left mirror and see me behind him. Next thing that happens is he puts his truck into reverse and steps on it. He backed right into me. We both hop out of our vehicles and I get his insurance information. He apparently thought he put his truck into drive. To make a long story short, I received $2,600 from his insurance company. Of course, they considered my car a total loss after the body shop estimate and I'm gonna have a salvaged title. After I got my settlement, I called the body shop that gave me the estimate for the insurance company and was told they won't fix my car because it's totaled. They referred me to another body shop and told me that they will work on it. I went to that body shop and was told the same thing. Both shops told me they can't work on it because it's totaled and their insurance won't allow them to fix it. Do I have any other options to get my car fixed or is this the end?
