eeprom is socketed, non-eeprom will just have blank circuit board where the chip is. These guys have it right, odds of finding an eeprom in a yard are low and it'll probably need a workover if you did. Visit technomotive.com for some great info on ECU.

When you remove the ISC watch out for those screws - they may be super tight, easily stripped.
