Got the new yolk, but I am having trouble getting the C-clips off. Any trick to doing it?

Put one cap in, put the c-clip in, insert joint, insert the other cap, press together, and insert second c-clip. They can be a pain a pain, but keep at it and you'll get it eventually.

He is having trouble getting the original c-clip out, not getting the new ones in.

Do you have c-clip pliers? You might want to try tapping the cap down (away from the clip) so you don't have as much friction up against the c-clip fighting you.

I am having trouble getting them out. I will try taping it down, I have some c clip pliers but they suck.
