The door switch that deactivates teh alarm has failed. Normally there's a horn that accompanies teh flashing but the horns fail over time (or get sort of stuck and make weird goose-like noises)

Your best bet is to cut the wire under teh driver dash to deactivate all alarm functions. It's a blue/yellow wire in a set going into a harness above the fusebox, search around there's instructions somewhere around here

There are 5, maybe 6 switches... each door and the hood. I think the trunk has one too. The switches are under a rubber boot... one phillips screw for each, clips are stuffed into the body, just pull it out and unplug. Clean up those contacts, remove any oxidation, or replace if necessary.

Don't forget that each door lock cylinder has a switch too. It deactivates the alarm when you unlock the doors. I guess there must be one on the trunk too or the alarm would go off when you unlock the trunk while the alarm is armed.
