Has anyone successfully removed the chrome from their bumpers and doors? I'd like to see what this looks like on a jdm rs bumper, I like the look on the amg galant.

I want to pull mine and paint it black.

I wish I had a JDM bodykit /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bawling.gif. I can't complain though, at least my car runs perfectly.

My car is almost done getting repainted. The shop went ahead and painted the strip black for me. I'll post up some pics when it's done.

I had my chrome trim painted to match the body color:

That looks great! Was your chrome stripping peeling at all before you painted it?

Anyone know if those chrome end pieces on the front and rear glass was actually black when the vehicle was new? It looks weird when just those pieces are chrome and rest of windshield trim is black

It was peeling. The guy who repainted my car just pulled the old stuff off, bought new stuff that is the same width, scuffed it, sprayed adhesion promoter and shot the base coat and the clear. Then he put it on before the paint was cured. It had the adhesive already on the back.

Now has anyone filled the scallops on the door moldings?

I don't think to many people have filled them. You can replace it with the amg panels for $$$ if you can find them. Nice smooth and sexy.
