PCV Valve

So after experiencing some overly rich conditions(smokes under hard accelleration)
and doing some searches both here and on other mitsubishi sites a likely culprit
turned out to be a faulty pcv valve. It was a fairly new unit but not an oem part
it even passed a simple check of only allowing air to pass from one side and not the
when blowing thru it.So I got a new satan hard to find one from my not so local dealer
and guess what car doesnt smoke as much anymore and surprisingly my mpg went up also wow.

Yup I learned the hard way too, Framinator products are cheap both in price and quality.
My symptoms were the dipstick popping out, lovely getting a nice coat of oil all over the engine bay.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

I don't know any humans that can make 10+psi blowing into something. You can't test them that way as you discovered.
