225 40 17. Lower profile on the 225 would look a bit better. should rub at all.

225 / 215 is how wide the tread is and 40 / 45 is how tall it is. right? so wouldn't a 195 tire look better.

sorry a 205 i think would give u a flat wall and a 195 would give you a lean.

Glad to help out. 195/40-17 or 195/45-17 tire would most likely be too stretched out. On a dsm/gvr4 you want at least 205 wide tires, preferably 215/225.
I ran 245/40-17's on a 17x8 rim.

It didn't rub at all with my HotBits coilovers. It might rub on the stock suspension setup but I'm not 100% sure. Wheels were from an EVO9 with a +38mm offset.

yeh i know that is why i reposted 205 would have a flat side wall. i don't have a bunch of experience with bigger wheels and fitting under a gvr4. my little bit of knowledge comes from 15" on my low golf with stretch on the tires and other cars. i am always looking for info. on stuff like this so i am happy i put my 1 cent in and got this info.

Shoulda gone direzza Star-Spec. It's a better tire and cheaper too.

Stock rolling diameter is 0.6*195*2/25.4+15 = 24.2"
215/40 rolling diameter is 0.4*215*2/25.4+17 = 23.8"
215/45 is just as good a match at 0.45*215*2/25.4+17 = 24.6"
225/40 is a better match at 0.4*225*2/25.4+17 = 24.1" but it's hard to find.
I'm a fan of 225/45 at 0.45*225*2/25.4+17 = 25" cause it fills out the wheel well and improves the final drive ratio a bit.

I too chose 225/45/17, then I put the speedo gear from a 1g in because it matches the tire diameter very well. I think stock 1g was 24.88" with the 205/55/16.

For 7" wide wheels 205's will give you a flat sidewall as mentioned earlier, therefore keeping the tire nice and square. If you have to go bigger i wouldn't go bigger than a 215, but that's with hard cornering in mind. But if it's more of a straight liner then sure, 225's.

I can vouch for the direzza SS, sticky dry and still sticky in the wet. Decent treadlife if you aren't beating the crap out of them all the time. I've had mine for around ~10k and still have 50-60%. 90% of the total miles they just see DD duty, but that other 10% they are at or close to the limit.
