NOOB---DSM LINK

Hello everyone. I am trying to see what electronics I will need to run my car. I am planning the big 16g route. I was going to get an d AFC and other the other electronic goodies but now If I get a DSM link, what electronics will I need?

Just the application and a socketed ECU for the ECMlink chip. And the cable, if you're buying used, is important.
