I was fortunate enough to purchase this car from a forum member right down the road from me -Thanks Jeff. It seems to be a solid car with little modifications done to it. I'm beginning by assessing and cleaning it and repairing what is needed before any modifications take a strangle hold on my thought process. I look forward to learning a lot from this forum and am excited to be part of the community. I have already stripped the interior down to the metal and my first issue is the ol' power antenna. The previous radio had been stolen and the antenna wire was cut. I replaced the antenna wire, hooked it up to a head unit and now the antenna will go up and down. Unfortunately there is no radio, only static when I tune into a station???? I'm sure this is an easy fix and something small but thought it would be good start. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I'll post some pictures here soon.

-Blake

I used my 2g antenna and fixed the problem for me I think it's because it needed to be grounded (antenna)

Congrats and welcome to the board. Your car looks great. Our technical section and our How-To is very helpful in your goals for this car. Good luck and have fun.

Yes sir..... the coating on the floor was damp and brittle when I pulled out the carpet. The carpet was dry so I'm not sure how/why the underneath was wet?

Probably a leaky trunk seal.

That picture is of the front passenger side. Seems weird it would be a trunk seal but you all would know better than I. Can you explain?

Oh, thought it was the trunk. Then leaky door seals or windshield.

Sounds good, I'll roll it out of my garage and spray it down before putting the interior back together and check it out. Thanks for the help!

The leak appears to be coming from somewhere to the left of the ECU?

So I pulled the fender off to investigate where the water was coming from and found this. Looks like its damaged pretty good. Can this be hammered straight or what would be the best thing to do?

Crap, is that a drain that is then clogged? How far pushed in is the metal? I have a stud welder that has done wonders on my Datsun, do you want to try that?

How long do you think it would take to throw the fender on and drive it down my way once you get the interior back in? I'd be happy to take a look at it and we can use whatever tools I have.

Did you get anything figured out with the antenna? I'm thinking it may be a missing ground somewhere like was mentioned above.

Someone post a pic of a non-damaged car for comparison. I think some of what may seem to be damage is actually how metal is supposed to be.

Found the leak.... it is bent inside this square hole area. Looks like a tent /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
