I'm on a quest again to find a lobro joint that works with our cars. Since mine has destroyed my rear carrier bearing (after I rebuilt my drive shaft a year ago, and the new bearings I just put in my rear diff. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

I need the bolt hole PCD, outside diameter, the width, the spline count, and the bolt hole size.

If anyone can help me out, you're really only helping yourself and the rest of the community. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks.

Why not find a shaft for sale and swap it on?

Are you attempting to build an uprated one or just see what other LB joints have similar dimensions?

Hit Toybreaker up via PM, sure he has a few lying around.

A shaft? I'm talking about a lobro joint not a shaft. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I want to replace my lobro joint with a new one. So if its an OEM equilivant or an upgrade it doesn't matter.

Sorry for the abbreviated term. By shaft I mean DRIVEshaft. Since that is what the lobro is connected to.

I gotcha.

Because they drive shaft could have the same problem. Bad lobro, wore carrier bearings. Plus I can't remember the last time I saw a driveshaft for sale.

I've been wondering if it's possible to have a full length driveshaft that eliminates the lobro and center u joint for cheap. The yoke on the tcase should allow for engine movement and still seal. I would think there would be better power transfer to the rear doing this. Kinda like the DSS aluminum shaft, but in steel for cheap.

I was looking to have a 1 piece rear shaft made to replace the middle and rear shafts. Cost was ok, I think around $225 for a chromoly 3" but they didn't have the proper u-joints attachments for their balancer so I couldn't get it done. I have poly front/rear engine mounts, so engine roll shouldn't be enough issue for the stock front shaft. Maybe we can find someone who can make it happen? I'd be down.

From what I know and have read, a single piece drive shaft won't work with our cars. It's due to the angle at which our transfer case is compared with the read diff. You can't tell by just eye balling it but they aren't parallel with one another, and are off by a couple degrees which is to much from a single piece drive shaft.

Its why Drive shaft shop only sells a piece that replaces the first 2 pieces.

Your not the only person looking into this.

Nah, not a group buy. But if someone does find someone able to build one, I'd like the contact info. I can get the shaft made, just need to find someone to balance it. Or maybe I could find a more standard u-joint to use for the balance process.
