I think most of us that run harnesses have no other seatbelt to use so unbolting it so someone can get in the back seat is useless unless it is you getting in the backseat and not driving. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I've never been too keen on backseat action and only have a harness, so I would not want it to unbolt.

I do want to carry people in the back though, so I am torn...

I'm along the lines of Turboflanagan's way of thinking. I've never been too keen on backseat action and only have a harness, so I would not want it to unbolt.

Only added advantage would be the reduced shipping costs. If we are on the topic of discussion potential changes, I think someone brought up a good one on the last page about adding small bars, tabs or hoops onto the bar to hold the harness straps in place.

3 pc wouldnt be a bad idea just need to make sure the bolting areas are reinforced well.

It wouldn't be weeker but I am sticking with a one piece for now since I know it works. It unbolts from the car in 10 mins either way. The bar sould be removed completely if anyone is going to ride in the back.

I was thinking kind of like the 3 ton jacks have the separable big handle into two. One slips into the other
