Data logging cable on 89 JDM

Hi, I recently got a data logging cable and Evoscan but have not been able to log anything. I'm getting "Error: No Response from Vehicle ECU". Plugged in, vehicle running, etc. Anybody know anything about it?

I don't believe the 1989 JDM dual-board ECU's are loggable. You need to swap to a newer 1990+ singleboard ECU.

JDM switched to single board ecu part way through '89, but yea, can't log from a dual board.

What number is on your ECU case? It should start with MB and have 6 digits.

 

It's got MD128618

Yep, that's a dual board ECU from an 87-89 VR4.
