I had the machine shop bore the cylinders .0020" over, and press the new slugs on. They also pressed in new BS bearings for me. I think I paid around $250. All in I think I have less than $580 invested into the short block.

The top rings were at .017" right out of the box without grinding any material off, so I mixed and matched them to the cylinders until they were as equal as possible. The second ring is at around .020" which required me to grind only two of them to achieve. I don't remember the exact oil ring gap, but I remember them being right in the middle straight out of the box. (min being .0079" and max being .0276")

All my bearings plastigagued at the max clearance of right about .0020". I didn't measure the oil gaps on the balance shafts which had me a bit nervous at first, but if it was going to blow I figure it would have done so by now.

Ps. My piston to wall clearance is only .0012" so I shouldn't have any piston slap.
