2g oil filter

Did I read that you can use the 2g filter on our cars. The last time I was at the store I looked at them but the base looked smaller. I'm asking because there isn't much room down there. It's a real bitch to change the filter.

Yes, it will fit. The base is smaller but still covers the oil pump intake with the same size threads. Unsure about the flow rate, but since I don't HAVE to, I don't. Larger filter keeps pressure up and I'm guessing filters better since it has more element, IMO.

3000GT VR-4 filters are nice and small for that hard to reach location. This is what I use with a Mighty Max filter housing on my Talon and it's just the bee's knees.

Are they the same size as the 2g filter, or kinda in between 1g and 2g??? Interesting..

The one for Evo VIII, is the same diameter and works beautifully. It's also shorter than the late MD031805. (which I still have a half a case!)

The 2g filter is probably the same as the 1g 7 bolt filter.
