1G Fuel Pump

Newb question: I know the sending units are not, but are the pumps themselves interchangeable between a 1G AWD and GVR4?
Can't seem to find the answer.

Physically, the DSM pumps are larger (50mm vs 38mm). I have used a 1G pump before though with no hacking involved.

Just put in the 1g pump and went for a drive. So far so good.
