  2. Original galant vr-4 owners manual pouch

You asked if anyone had a 1992, so I answered yes. :) I had in my garage and was locating the rest of my galant memoriabilia.I covered up the original owner on the warranty card. It's not right to show someone else's name and address. Let me know if you want to see the backside of the...

  10. #418/2000 restore & mod thread.

Looks great Nate. Keep up the great work. I especially like the pic of the bumper sitting in your living room.
  11. Does my ECU need to be looked at?

Sure looks like flux residue around the cap leads which is not really a big deal. jepherz is correct, the start position of the ignition switch is what causes the pump to run before the ECU controls it. I'd look at the starter relay first.
  12. FS: GVR4 1552 partout: aftermarket parts

Nate - I tried emailing you a few times for various parts. Pls check your messages. Thanks! Tommyp
  13. NateCrisman

I bought some more parts once again from Nate for the ole 1410. I dropped by his shop, we BSd about the meaning of life and we tech talked about various things while he grabbed the parts I neeeded. Besides an easy transaction, he's a very down to earth and friendly person.
  14. 1g eclipse/talon radiator into gvr4?

DSM radiators are a bitch to burp the air bubbles out. The prob is that the dsm waterneck/cap is lower than the top part of the radiator. I suppose I could have been doing it wrong at the time. Filling a radiator usually would take me a few minutes. The dsm radiator took me quite some time...
  15. What exactly is the black tar that seals the tails?

spooling has the right part posted. I used the same stuff to seal up my rear quarter window the other year (no leaks). It was readily available at a car parts store. If you don't see it at the store, just ask the guy at the counter.
  16. never take the rubber islolators out of rear evo shocks

Luke, Does the rear suspension parts I bought from you about a year ago have these rubber isolators? Or do I need to find them?
  17. Badge adhesive removal

Ronson lighter fluid + terry cloth works great for taking all sorts of adhesives off of surfaces. In the house, it works great to soften up paint splatters if you are messy painting around woodwork. I'd suggest testing in an small spot to be sure it doesn't affect the surface.
  18. Wierd intermittent starter problem

I had the problem on a [gasp] dsm. Turned out to be the remote starter. I must have replaced the starter half a dozen times and still same situation. After replacing all of the relays of the starter brain, it seemed to work like a champ. Remote starters ftl.
  19. 1G DSM, get it up and running thread.

I had a similar prob with my gvr4 and I was chasing my tail for 2 week. The car would stay running for a second or two, the fuel pump relay would click and it would stall. There weren't any ECU codes and the datalogger said all was AOK. It ended up being the ECU. After repairing the messed...
  20. Boostx

I hate to sound a skipping record, but I just received my rear subframe bushings too. The timeline - five days ago my first PM to boostx, four days ao I paypal'd and today I received parts. If you like no nonsense, no endless PMs/emails, and want instant gratification, boostx is your source...
  21. gvrfour173

There's a few other older threads about good guy gvrfour173, but this is the newest one so I'll post here. Easy & no nonsense transaction. Before I knew it, I had parts at my house.
  22. 1G DSM, get it up and running thread.

Gotta get to the root cause. Google for "swimming pool of death"
  23. Functional ABS with a 5 Lug Swap

Iceman - Thanks for the clarification on tooth counts, but I echo your point that the tooth count is 2:1 on a gvr4 and a 1:1 on a dsm. I have not had any issues with ABS functionality at this point. When I first start it, the ABS light goes on and off a number of times and then goes out, which...
  24. Functional ABS with a 5 Lug Swap

Do this at your own risk. This works for me.Unlike some people, I prefer ABS. I have to admit, I'm not the best driver. Sometimes it's difficult to remember to pump my brake pedal when on a snowy hill and my car is out of control and just about ready to hit a tree. I wanted my 5 lug, 4...
  25. Garfield Wright

Just picked up an exhaust for the 1410 ressurection. The thing looks perfect, I can't wait to install it. Working with Garfield is a real pleasure - he answered stupid questions quickly and professionally, and quite honestly the whole process was non-dramatic. Questions asked, answers...
  26. dan_withadsm

Purchased some parts (and some oddball ones at that) from Dan for my vr4 resurrection project. The photos that Dan provided were exactly what I received. Will definately do business with Dan again.
  27. icurunnin

Bought an evo fmic from Fred. It was exactly as describled (pristine) and was packed very well for its journey across the country. Simple, no-nonsense and drama free exchange.
  28. aws question?

I was a bit confused when I did the AWS removal too. Besides being a total noob, but not being car illiterate, I was able to find something worthwhile after searching for a couple of hours. I had to sort of read between the lines on what fittings to get, which ones leaked and which ones do...
  29. How many VR4s are left

1410/2000 here and is under the knife. Hopefully on the road by summertime.
  30. MistaVR4

Bought a side triangular stationary window from Steve. It arrived safely and intact. It was packaged like it could survive a drop from a 20 story building. Communication was complete, honest and no questions were left unanswered. Overall a pleasant experience. Hopefully all traders in this...
