  1. how many of yall daily your gvr4

I drive mine every day. Rain, sleet, snow, sun. 175k.
  2. FS: ACT 2900 clutch with puck disc

XTD stage 2 pressure plate with a stock flywheel. I'm on a ACT 2600 and Clutch master's sprung 6 puck now and besides a very heavy pressure plate, it feels the same. All 6 pucks suck in relative terms.
  3. FS: ACT 2900 clutch with puck disc

Wat? Nothing wrong with an un-sprung clutch disc. I daily drove one for 2 years without an issue.
  4. WTB: Filler neck

If you need, use one from a 1g awd DSM. I used one on my car, zero issues.
  5. 14b and boost creep

Yup. Keep a personal redline of about 5k. lol
  6. 14b and boost creep

Yup, good ol' 14b. Just get more fuel coming for it and be happy at 20 psi.
  7. Proud owner of 1049/2000 :D

Quoting Lofty: I love the way this car rides.Never going back to 1gs again I don't think.Incredible.Right??!! 1G's feel like pile's compared to a Galant. The chassis feel that much better....
  8. Fuel cut on hard left turn...

My 1g did this a lot but I have yet to have it happen to me in my VR4. Make sure you have at least a half tank of fuel before playing I guess....
  9. FS: 1375 final parts...

    There's only one e-brake cable?
  10. how many galant vr4's was there produced

Look on the plate rivited to the firewall. Should be on the lower right hand corner of it. Mine says its an A71 option.
  11. FS: EVO 8 Rear Seats

How much would shipping be on something like this? I assume it's the top and bottom parts?
  12. how many galant vr4's was there produced

Not quite as rare, but my car is apparently 1 of 100 for 91. (A71, BG) Pretty amazing...
  13. First Time Build: 995/1000

Personally I would use assembly lube, not bearing grease but I'm not too experienced with engine rebuilding.
  14. 1945 is now mine!

Was able to mount the tires I bought off of Cam, Nitto 555zr's 235/45/R17. Mounted them on my stealth TT rims that I just finished painting black. I like the new look, not nearly as flashy as the 18's and better grip.
  15. 1945 is now mine!

Took a couple more pics the other day after washing it:The transmission I assembled is almost to 3000 miles but is making noises. Luckily I found a good trans/t-case combo for 125 so I'm just waiting on some Diaqueen trans fluid to arrive and then I'll swap it. Car is running okay, knock...
  16. evo 3 center diff

It would have a different final drive ratio therefor different tooth count on the center diff.
  17. evo 3 center diff

Depending on what VR4 you have, it would have a different tooth count on the outside of the center diff.
  18. 1945 is now mine!

I found that out after taking mine apart. Things were hot, no doubt.Took a couple pics after washing it at work. Finally had a chance to clean my garage up a bit with the nice weather.I'm really needing DSMlink. I'm so damn sick of my knock sensor picking up every stupid little thing...
  19. De-chroming 92 tail lights

What I did was mask off around the trim ring and scuff up the chrome and shot it with some spray paint. So far its holding up but ideally I would want to remove the trim from the lights and paint them off the car.
  20. Hello!

Got rear camber? lol Looks rough, but it has potential. Would make a great rallyx beater.
  21. Forum member in Super Street readers' rides

Isn't that part of the appeal of these cars in the first place? Being discrete and not in the magazines?
  22. Forum member in Super Street readers' rides

Even modified has its moments. Super street is terrible though.
  23. 1945 is now mine!

Thanks man, I'm working at my old job that I use to have changing oil and detailing cars full time so I have income again. Just really feels like I took a step backwards in my career but whatever, I'm happy.Sick of this so called "winter" season, and wasting my snow tires on dry pavement every...
  24. 1945 is now mine!

The car has been through a lot it seems. Do you have the original gas tank too then?I bought myself a different intercooler from a friend of mine. It's about 28in wide, 10.5in tall, and 3.5in thick garret core. It was off his low 10 second 90 Talon, put down a little over 700 something to the...
  25. 808/1000 Hello from MN!

I love the whole car, wood wheel and OZ's. Looks good man.
  26. Build Thread of 1415/2000

That's why we have DSM's, to slide sideways on loose surfaces into trees and such. lol
  27. Build Thread of 1415/2000

Lets all hope you don't decide to do 80 and hit gravel.
  28. 1945 is now mine!

Yay, more pics.Went for an 80 mile drive yesterday with a couple friends. Car behaved like it should. Made some mudflaps for it Saturday and they worked well too. I have to trim the rears though, the suspension really settled a lot. Transmission is still holding up. I suppose if it were to...
  29. 92 Tail Lights

Thanks, I painted that chrome trim black on my car and was curious if you could actually get them that way.
  30. 1945 is now mine!

I was bored, so I painted the chrome trim around the 92-93 tail lights to black. I think it looks better than the chrome:
  31. 92 Tail Lights

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I see a couple different versions of the 92 tails. One has the chrome around the outsides, the other is blacked like the 89's & 91's. Is the chrome standard on all and the black surround is owner-done?
  32. 1945 is now mine!

Well, now that I lost my job, I have much more time to tinker with the Gaylant. Finally mounted the DSM ecu up where it should be in the Galant, ran the release cables for the trunk and the fuel door, also stole the latch off my Talon so now the fuel door is on. I took the stupid lawn mower...
  33. Gas light and guage is weird??

Have you removed your fuel pump assembly recently?
  34. front bumpers and bodykits

Oh my gawd, how did this make three pages? I went and cried for a while after he made fun of my ugliness, and when I come back there's more??!!!
  35. front bumpers and bodykits

Has no one told you how terrible those look?
  36. Turbocharging a N/A 4G63 1G Galant FWD

As far as I know, the only internal differences are pistons, absence of oil squirters and a knock sensor, and a different set of cams. Not sure on if the valve springs and retainers are the same.
  37. 1945 is now mine!

Put the transmission back together friday night. Was up till about 3 am when I finished it. Installed it back in the car saturday morning, and drove it home around 530. So far no leaks, no weird noises. Occasional 2nd and 3rd gear crunch but otherwise it all seems good.
  38. NON vr4 galants in us?

In my town there's a dark red LS I see parked on the street every once in a while. However, in the same town, there's no less than 4 GVR4's.
  39. My day at the Junkyard, look what I found #2! UPDATED

I"m jealous of your rear wiper.....
  40. Synchro/Sliders/Bearings Where to get it from??

Jacks Transmissions is the place to go. I ordered all new seals and both bearings for the intermediate cluster.
  41. 1945 is now mine!

Finally pulled the trans out of my Galant and took it apart to see what happened. Pretty much, exactly as I thought....stripped gears. The gear clusters on the bottom are whats going into the trans, above is the ones that were in it:Just a few of the gear pieces:My plans have...
  42. 1945 is now mine!

Is it? Can I get some confirmation on that? The vfaq article on rebuilding these never mentioned that.
  43. 1945 is now mine!

Picked up a transmission from a friend that was ran dry on fluid. Pulled it all apart for my first time ever tearing apart a DSM trans. Surprisingly, there's only 2 bearings and races that are trashed (on the intermediate shaft assembly), and the center diff doesn't quite feel right to me...
  44. 1945 is now mine!

Put it on the hoist this morning at work before my shift started and pulled the tcase real quick and sure enough, the damn center diff is grinding. So now I'm on the look-out for a cheap replacement trans.
  45. So, how did you learn how to tune your car?

I've done a lot of reading online and a lot of trial and error. I didn't have many car friends when I started out with dsms, so it was a learning experience for sure. I use the GM Maf-T until I can afford DSMlink.
  46. WTB: Leather 1G Shift Boot

    15 bucks? I don't know what it's worth.
  47. 1945 is now mine!

.....aaaaand now the Galant's broke. Either the transfer case or the center diff gave up the ghost. The car still moves fine in every gear but theres a horrible gear crunching sound now. I wont know for sure until I get the car in the air. Luckily I was in town near work so I parked it there.
  48. Does a 1g catback fit?

I had to make mine work at the time. We doubled up some rubber hangers, and added a short section at the rear with a ghetto worm clamp to help hold the exhaust. Worked for about a week, then the worm clamp broke. Luckily it broke on my way in to fix it. lol
  49. FS: 91 Talon AWD Shell $130 Winona, MN

Well, I'm just going to start parting this thing out I think. No one wants a rusty ass shell. I think the hood and fenders are spoken for but that's it. If there's anything anyone needs off a DSM let me know. Will not ship bigger items like drivetrain parts and bumpers, etc.
  50. WTB: Leather 1G Shift Boot

I have one. Took it straight out of my Talon.
