92 Tail Lights

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I see a couple different versions of the 92 tails. One has the chrome around the outsides, the other is blacked like the 89's & 91's. Is the chrome standard on all and the black surround is owner-done?

92/93 taillights all had the chrome trim from the factory.
The center section is actually pretty close to a kensington grey color from the factory versus the 89-91 being a black plastic.

Anything other than that was done by somebody later in the car's life.

Thanks, I painted that chrome trim black on my car and was curious if you could actually get them that way.
