  1. FS: 1990 Galant GSX $1000 Phoenix AZ [SOLD]

Trying to sell my GGSX that doesn't run. It ran great before it had this issue. click I know $1000 for a non running car is kind of steep, but I have seen multiple shells on here for around this price. If the experts on here find this is to pricey then let me know I'll adjust accordingly. I'm...
  2. Car dies but starts right back up.

So my car has started doing this again, same symptoms are before. The car will start no problems and run great for 3-5 seconds until it will stall. If I give it gas it will still stall out. I’m at a loss here and any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is a list of things that I have done in...
  3. WTB: Data logger

Data logger for my GGSX. Must be compatible with my car. Thank you!
  4. Car dies but starts right back up.

Got my car running and it turned out the be to FIAV was not working properly so I blocked it from working and now my car runs great again! Living in AZ means I don't really have to deal with cold strt issues commonly attributed to the FIAV bypass.
  5. Car dies but starts right back up.

I got my ECU back an plugged it back in, car starts right up and staying running. But it still has the sporadic idle, I already replaced the known bad ISC with no symptom changes. Any other ideas comments or suggestions?
  6. Car dies but starts right back up.

I'm hoping when I get the ECU back it'll run great again, but I'm doubtful. Assuming the IAC from oreilys was good, then yes I replaced it with a good one. What was wrong with your ECU and what did he do to fix it?Could it be the CAS, someone posted about the earlier but I kinda wrote it off...
  7. Car dies but starts right back up.

Sent my ECU to ECMTuning, and I am getting the capacitors replaced. They said my ECU is fine other than the leaking capacitors, also the the ISC drivers are working properly as well as the fuel pump relay. Thus ruling out the ECU being the culprit of the car not running. Any other suggestions?
  8. Car dies but starts right back up.

So I took out my ECU and as you can see the caps have started leaking. Now this could be causing my issue. But could there still be an underlying cause? How legit is ECMTuning? That's what I have seen on here that most people send their ECUs to get fixed.
  9. Car dies but starts right back up.

I followed the steps in that video and my IAC is showing that it is reading no resistance between the 1-2 pins and also the 4-5 pins. With what he said on the video that means the IAC is bad, do you think mine is as well?
  10. Car dies but starts right back up.

My GGSX will start normally and run for up to 10 seconds and then it will shut off, kind of like if I were to turn the key off. The engine DOESN'T sputter shake or anything it just shuts off. When it dies the three dash lights come on (check engine, brake, oil light) because the car is still in...
  11. Newbie with tire/wheel combo question

Thank you all for the replys, I think I'm pretty much set on the 235s and my question to the .org is will the 235s have any clearance issues? To be more clear on this, will there be any issues with rubbing the fender? Or will the tire be too wide and hit the lower control arm?
  12. Newbie with tire/wheel combo question

I have searched and searched but haven't found much info on if I will need to trim the control arm or not. I have found a pretty decent deal on a wheel and tire combo that is 17x7.5 40ET and I want to know if the Known wheel and tire combination of 235/40/17 would need any trimming or gender...
  13. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Got it off! Used a harmonic balancer tool and just slid a screwdriver in the middle and yanked the sucker off!
  14. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

I don't, but I could run to a parts store and use a loaner.
  15. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Update:I finally got the chance to work On the car after months of being away, I've gotten everything on my list done except the timing belt. I have hit a road block and I'm not sure what to do. I have the timing belt off and Im working on getting the balance shaft belt off. I have taken off...
  16. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

I am going to do new brakes all around pads/rotors, that will fix the vibrations, and I'll have all new brakes!I could wait on them if I wasn't moving to Arizona and had a 13 hour road trip ahead of me. As well as I don't really want to drive with the axle making the grinding noise during...
  17. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

I'm not sure which axle I need but when turning at low speeds, the axle makes a grinding noise. Sounds like its coming from the passenger side, and I haven't gotten a chance to get under and look at it yet so I cannot verify if I need passenger or driver. Also the previous owner said it needs...
  18. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

I have decided against doing the BSE and will go about a full timing belt service.Different question now, are these fluid capacities the same for the GGSX? click I will use redline 75w-90, based upon the consensus on here that redline is very good. Since this will be a daily, but I will drive...
  19. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

My wife said a box heavy box came in today, I told her to take pics for me!I still have this question about the rear balance shaft delete. So if I get the stubby shaft I would only have to remove and turn the front bearing? Because the balance shaft has an oil hole that feeds the rear...
  20. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Awesome, these spacers are definetly the route I'm going to go. The camber isn't really a big deal because the EVO suspension I am getting has camber plates so I will be able to adjust the camber to where I would like.
  21. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Quoting Spyke169: Problem with washers is the evo shocks have larger mounting holes than the Galant.so you can drill out your steering knuckles and use evo bolts. Or get these I mentioned. When i first put the evo suspension on my dsm i hacked up the dsm ears to use as spacers, eyeballed what...
  22. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Quoting LIV4PSI: So now I know why I was confused. My parts car just used washers. That's why I had no chance of finding them. And those soacers look pretty easy to make, I doubt anywhere makes them to sell.So I'd assume the washers were hardened, and how many were on each side of the...
  23. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Quoting Spyke169: Supercar-engineering. Com sells the spacers you are asking about. I was going to link you to them but can't get it to pull up on my phone right now.Funny. My GGSX has the original dealership's sticker on the same place on the trunk lid. Haven't removed it because I'm sure...
  24. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

A few things a forgot to add, the car is 100% (from what I've seen) stock even down to the original tape deck, also it has a manual transmission. If you need any other info I'll try my best to give it to you, it sucks being hundreds of miles of way from your car!
  25. 1990 GGSX DD Edition

Well I just bought my GGSX a few weeks ago and I had to go right back down to Texas to finish up school. I still have a few months before I will be able to work on my car. As of right now I am compiling a list of maintenance and need to replace items. Its mainly tune up and replacing the valve...
