Hi guys,
Im Galant funboy from Czech Republic with too much various cars mostly in not driving conditions and i´m about to build rally-ish Galant E39.
You are probably the closest bunch of folks with knowledge about the fast 6g Galants. Sadly in Czechia we dont have any source of info on fast Mitsubishis. And i know only one guy who used to have 6g GTI.
I have totaly rusted 7g E88A Galant AWD AWS i wanted as donor for my 8g V6 wagon or Colt (Mirage) CA joy car..but i have abaddoned thiese plans.
Now i can buy reasonable healthy Dynamic 4(most likely as its moded and VIN unreadable over the paint) for cheap, but it lacks engine, seats, front brakes, smashed all dors and its glass by forklift ( Volkswagen dorks )...and it have 5 lug hubs.
Someone had it for racing or some other fun and its on coilovers with camber adjusting, have uprated fuel pump with regulator and some other bits left it there.
And i would like to swap in the 6G73 2,5l 125kW iron V6 with transmision from that 7g "round" Galant.
Engine should fit to the hangers, prop can be modified using front half from 7g and second half from E39.
But how about front halfshafts? If halfshafts from 1,6 Colt CA fit in 7g Galant 6A12 110kW FWD trans (my frend have it with GTI suspension and its scary fast), i hope for the best.
Good thing on this swap would be that i could eventualy swap in twin turbo 6G72 with 6 speed Getrag from 3kGT VR-4...I know what you think right now....Get the correct engine in it you *****
Dif ratios.
I did not find them for dinamic4 nor E88A.
And i dont know if they were modified or changed to something else :-(
Brakes:
With the 5 lug hubs i could get Eclipse 276 mm rotors but can i fit 2 piston calipers from 7g?
I have to mesure them as there were 2 bolt distances (160 and 130 mm i think) on calipers on 8gen Galant and i bet 7G will have the one that dont fit on E39.
What bolt distance is on GVR-4 and is it the same on European Dynamic4?
I would prefer to have stock 4 lug hubs but only pros are originality and cheaper wheels.
Or some combo that can be found in Europe without EVO bonus price? Sigma, Grandis, Outlander?
Any advise is welcomed.
Thanks Vlasta
