All our plastics are getting old and brittle...

Anyone here have access to a 3d printer?

I'm sure some of us are willing to pay for certain smaller plastic parts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Personally, I need AC vent fins, maybe a couple switch housings.

My Radar detector fell off the window and shattered all my center vents fins, well, the ones that run horizontally anyway.

I'm sure there's plenty of our parts that could be reproduced if someone wanted to. I have no experience with 3d printers and have no idea if the plastic used in those machines could survive in our 140ºF cabin temps, but why not try. If I had the cash, hell I'd buy one and try it.

Someone here must have access to one...at least I hope <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You can get table top printers for under 500 now. The technology has really come far and prices have dropped. They are huge, but they work. I wonder how hard it would be to match the plastic color.

I don't think that the printers would be able to reproduce the grain in say the A-Pillar trim. Correct me if I'm wrong I haven't seen the latest and greatest printers.

My buddy has a home one and my other friend has a real nice professional one at work. If anyone has files I can get prices.
